Phyllis Ann Gagan

Phyllis Ann Gagan (nee Wickman), 77, of West Bend, passed away at her residence on Saturday Aug. 22, 2009.

She was born on April 28, 1932, in Hartford to August and Nora (nee Berg) Wickman. On Sept. 5, 1953, Phyllis married James R. Gagan in West Bend and would have celebrated their 56th anniversary in September of this year.

Phyllis was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. She also was an avid gardener, took great pride in her home and family, was an outstanding cook and enjoyed feeding birds and watching. She loved the Milwaukee Brewers and enjoyed going to the games with her husband.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, James R. Gagan; her children, Paul (Cindy) and Joan (Mike) Bauer. She was the proud grandmother of Carli (Tom) Weber, Kyle Gagan, Sara (Shane) Giza, Andrew (Amanda Breit) Bauer; and adoring great-grandmother to Tyler Weber, Kennedy Giza, Luke Weber and Isabella Giza. Also surviving Phyllis are her sister, Dolores (the late Rueben) Weber; her brother, Norbert (Rose) Wickman; brother- sister-in-law, Richard (Sue) Gagan and Mary Margaret (Erik) Cunningham; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Nora Wickman.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 7 p.m. Thursday Aug. 27, 2009, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., in West Bend with the Rev. Gerald Brittain officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
