Violet G. Mickelson, 91
Violet G. Mickelson of Hartford was born to eternal life Monday, Nov. 30, 2009.
She was born Jan. 28, 1918, in Hartford, the daughter of August and Mary (nee Zingsheim) Calenberg. Vi married Harry Mickelson in 1986. She was past director of Senior Friends from 1995 to 2004 and she worked on the Wisconsin State Coalition for the Aging. Vi liked to sew and work crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching professional sports, Brewers and Packers. Vi and Harry enjoyed golfing, dancing and listening to big band music and taking their daily walks. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vi was a devout Catholic and attended daily Mass when she could.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her children, Roberta and William Radtke; her husband, Harry, on March 28, 2008; one brother; two sisters-in-law; and her first husband, Robert Radtke.
Vi is survived by her daughters, Mary (Ben) Hopkins of Hartford and Jenny (Jeff) Heimerl of West Bend; step-son, Terry (Cathy) Mickelson of Reedsburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 West State St., Hartford. Interment St. Kilian Cemetery.
