Gerald Krueger, 95
Gerald Krueger of Daytona Beach, Fla., now of Hartford, went peacefully to his Savior in heaven on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Cedar Garden in Cedarburg. He was 95 years old.
Jerry was born at home in Reedsville on Jan. 22, 1914, to Louis and Anna (nee Nass) Krueger. He married Arla Volentine on Aug. 18, 1937, in Shiocton.
Jerry and Arla started Krueger Studio in March 1937, photographing high school seniors throughout Wisconsin, families and weddings. They opened a studio at 22 N. Main St. where Jerry photographed until his retirement in 1978. The business was then operated by his son Kent.
They moved to Daytona Beach, Fla. in 1983 where he resided until 2008 when he returned to Hartford because of health reasons.
Jerry loved watching sports on TV. When he was younger he enjoyed flying. He piloted his own plane all around the country.
Jerry is survived by his son Kent (Bonnie) Krueger of Hartford and Kim (Merel) Kerr of Ashland; six grandchildren, Cassandra (Brent) Canny, Celeste (Christopher) Kuchinski, Kevin Krueger, Heather (Keith) Gray, Nikole (Kevin) Kohn, Mariah (Adam) Traaholt and Amy Tromp; six great grandchildren, Cody, Seth, Jenna, Jessica, Brandon, and Jaden. Jerry is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Arla in 2007, his parents, a brother Almon, and three sisters, Irene, Hildegard and Eldreth.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, Hartford, with Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Interment, Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
