Wilfred V. Freund, 88

    Wilfred V. Freund, 88, of Horicon, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Clearview Nursing Home.
    He was born Sept. 21, 1921, in McHenry, Ill., the son of John and Emma (nee Tonyan) Freund. Wilfred farmed on the family farm in Illinois, then moved to Wisconsin in 1959 and farmed in the Reeseville and Waterloo areas for 25 years. He also worked at John Deere for 22 years until his retirement. Wilfred was on a bowling league in Reeseville and Horicon for many years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
    Wilfred is preceded in death by his wife, Florence (nee Duffy) in 1982; four brothers and one sister.
    He is survived by his children, Kenneth Freund of Pennsylvania, Therese Freund-Duffy of North Carolinia, Helena (Wayne) Held of Slinger, Karen Freund of North Carolina, Wilfred Freund of Beaver Dam, Kathleen (Ray) Weisensel of Sun Prairie, Robert Freund of Beaver Dam, Marcia (Dana) Carufel of Tennesee, Florence Freund of Florida, Linda Balcerowski of West Allis and Howard Freund of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Ann (John) Draper of Lake Geneva, Rosemary Young of Williams Bay and Margaret Bryer of Illinois. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, from 10 a.m. until noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon. Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon at the Church. The Rev. Michael Petrie will officiate. Interment St. Malachy Catholic Cemetery.
