Kertscher (nee Stadler)
Ann M. Kertscher (nee Stadler), 87, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Beechwood Rest Home in the town of Scott.
Ann was born on June 8, 1922, in the town of Saukville, Ozaukee County, to the late John and Philomena (nee Islitzer) Stadler.
She was united in marriage to Wilmer A. Kertscher on Nov. 27, 1943, in West Bend. They built a home in Fillmore, where Wilmer ran a saw mill and barn whitewashing business while Ann took care of their four children, housekeeping and prepared many meals for hired hands that helped at the sawmill. Ann enjoyed tending her large vegetable and flower gardens, feeding and watching birds and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and was famous for her ďbest on the planetĒ German potato salad. Ann was also a member of the St. Martinís U.C.C. of Fillmore for the past 66 years.
Ann is survived by her children, John (Judy) Kertscher, Jerry (Susie) Kertscher, Judy (Robert) Piaro and Don (Marilyn), all from the Fredonia area; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jody, Jackie, Randy, Lisa, Michael, Jason, Jamie, Melissa, Michelle, Ryan and Robbie; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, Herman Stadler of Newburg and Rudy (Marcy) Stadler of the town of Saukville; sisters-inlaw Bernice Kertscher of West Bend, Dolores Kertscher and Ruby Kertscher, both of Campbellsport.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wilmer; her parents, John and Philomena Stadler; and her siblings, Elsie Primas and Theresa Stadler, and Violet, Charlie and Adolph, who died as children.
A Funeral service for Ann will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Rich Vincent officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at the Fillmore Union Cemetery in Fillmore.
