Dwight Ellsworth Sisney, 95, a retired business executive and resident of Overland Park, Kan., since 1981, passed away on Dec. 16, 2009, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Born in Illinois, Dwight graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence in 1939. He was an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and a veteran of World War II. He will long be remembered as a kind, thoughtful man who regularly went out of his way to be of assistance to family, friends and neighbors.
Dwight was the loving father of Ned Sisney (wife Mary) of Mequon and Pamela McManus of Pacifica, Calif. He is also survived by one grandchild, Kaitlyn Sisney.
A gathering to celebrate Dwight’s life was held at the Tuileries Clubhouse, Overland Park, Kan., on Dec. 19, 2009.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
