June Janet Schwanz, 85
June Janet Schwanz, 85, of Saukville, died believing in Jesus, the world’s Savior, and was called to her home in heaven during the evening hours of Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009.
June was born in Milwaukee on June 19, 1924, the daughter of Albert and Lydia (nee Anton) Koehler, and was born again in the waters of Holy Baptism and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She met her husband, Erich Schwanz, while he was attending a party at her parents’ home, where she stated to her relatives, "that’s the man for me." The two were married on April 15, 1950, at Zoar Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, and were blessed with 59 years of marriage.
June was involved in Homemakers and she was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed sharing her faith with her family and friends. June also was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church-West, Mequon.
Among those who survive her are her husband, Erich; two daughters and two sons, Janet (Michael) Beder of Wild Rose, Jo Anne (David) Berth of Green Bay, Jerold (Cindy) Schwanz of Neillsville and Jay (Jody) Schwanz of Saukville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois (Allen) Hall of Port Washington; and many other relatives, friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ruth (Karl) Rose.
A service of Christian funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 6 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church-West, 11450 Wauwatosa Road, Mequon, with the Rev. Kenneth Kolberg officiating. Music will be provided by Charles Habeck and grandson, Brian Schwanz.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. There will be a private interment in the Trinity West-Mequon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Trinity Lutheran Church-West-Mequon.
