Darcy J. Bogenrief, 44
Darcy J. Bogenrief a former Cedarburg resident, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 21, 2009, in Gillette, Wyo., at the age of 44, following a long illness.
She was the cherished daughter of Raymond C. and Delores R. Bogenrief, and dear sister of Lisa (Paul) Walter, Ethan (Lara), Margaret, and Raymond.
She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Darcy was born in Monticello, Ill., and graduated from Cedarburg High School and the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She earned the position of editor of the Law Review at the Marquette University Law School and practiced law in Chicago for many years at Winston & Strawn and Ungaretti & Harris.
Most recently, Darcy served as an assistant to the campaign of Nicholas H. Carter, the Democratic nominee for the 2008 U.S. Senate election in Wyoming.
Darcy loved protecting animals and spending time with her family. Her buoyant personality and knack for making others laugh will be dearly missed.
Darcy's life will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 2, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. and a luncheon at the church.
