A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church in Cedarburg, for Alex Bohl Jr. who was reunited with his wife, Grace, on Jan. 31, 2009. A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a vigil service. Visitation will also take place on Saturday at the church, prior to the funeral Mass from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery.
Alex was born in Milwaukee, to the late Alex Bohl Sr. and the late Katherine (nee Starkel) Bohl. Alex graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee and he also served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
Alex married the love of his life, Grace Barrand, on Aug. 5, 1950, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Their marriage was blessed with three children.
Alex was a very active individual who enjoyed volunteering his time at St. Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital, volunteering for the Ozaukee County 4-H, as well as St. Vincent of Depaul. Alex was also a member of the American Legion Peter Wollner Post in Cedarburg, the Knights of Columbus, and the Local 5 Bricklayer’s Union for over 40 years.
Alex is survived by his children Kathy (Dennis) Leiberg, Greg (Peg) Bohl, and Jennifer (Tim) Doughman; grandchildren Theresa, David (Jessica), Alex, Eric, Haley, and Aiden; great-grandchildren Joshua, Madeline, Katie, Clara, Michael, and Lucas; and dearest friend and cribbage partner Lois Westley. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Bohl.
