Daniel L. Sumwalt

Daniel L. Sumwalt, 61, of Allenton, formerly of Madison, entered eternal life Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009.

Daniel was born on Sept. 23, 1947, to James and Norma (nee McDonough) in Richland Center. Daniel was a graduate of Madison East High School, class of 1965. He attended MATC and graduated in 1968 with a degree in welding. Daniel was very creative with metal sculpturing and was the founder of Montana Iron Works.

Danile married Victoria (nee Olsen) Sumwalt on Aug. 27, 1966. He enjoyed the outdoors, bow hunting and especially spending time with his family on canoe trips.

Daniel will be deeply missed by his wife Victoria, children Dru (Caryn), Dani Lee (Cyndi) and granddaughter Angela. He is further survived by his siblings Richard (Vicki) of Oshkosh, Diane Harrison of Kissimmee, Fla., David (Katrina) of Land O Lakes, Fla., Debra (Kent) Partridge of Fond du Lac, Dixie of Orlando, Fla., brother-in-law Richard (Ann) Olsen, sisters-in-law Debra (Phillip) Iturbide, Kathryn Olsen, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma, parents-in-law, Everett (LaVerne) Olsen, and a brother-in-law, Everett "Skip" Olsen.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, with Pastor John E. Sumwalt officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home in West Bend on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 4 p.m. until time of service.
