Evangeline R. "Eve" Ladwig

Evangeline R. "Eve" Ladwig (nee Suhm) of Jackson died on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 78 years. She was born on March 12, 1930, in Milwaukee to the late Clarence and Ida (nee Kohn) Suhm.

On Dec. 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ronald W. Ladwig at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

In 1962 her family moved to Hubertus, where she lived until settling in Jackson in 1970. Eve worked as a piano teacher at Hartford Music Center for more than 40 years.

She enjoyed different types of crafting, including oil painting. Also, she cared for her flower garden, and liked to meet her neighbors during her daily walks with her dog. Eve will also be missed by her walking partner, Charlie, a Brittney Spaniel, they thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors together.

She was the organist at Faith Lutheran Church in Germantown, and was a charter member of Living Word Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and was active in different areas.

Survivors include her husband Ron; four children Lynne (Eric) Thorin of West Bend, Michael (Debra) of Cascade, William of Jackson and Lori (Dan) Burback of Farmington; one son-in-law Mike Nichols of Spooner; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers Steve (Joan) Suhm of Oshkosh and Fred "Elbert" Suhm of Arizona; a sister-in-law Carol (Sherwin) Wittke of Superior; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two children, Dennis Ladwig and Cindy Nichols, and two sisters-in-law Toni Suhm and Judy Suhm.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 12 at Living Word Lutheran Church in Jackson with Rev. Bernhard Husemann officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m.
