Faye Clara Nordin, 77

Faye Clara Nordin, 77, passed away, peacefully Sunday evening, Feb. 22, 2009, at home in Daggett, Mich., after a lengthy illness.

The former Faye Clara Schwartz was born on April 17, 1931, in Kiel, Wis., to the late Gerhardt Sr. and Virginia (Voland) Schwartz. Faye married Arthur Nordin of Daggett, Mich., on Dec. 6, 1952. They resided in the West Bend/Kewaskum area of southeastern Wisconsin for 53 years before moving back to Daggett in 2005.

Faye had been a school bus driver for 19 years, providing transportation of parochial school children from the Kewaskum School district into West Bend, being proud of the fact that she had driven the same bus route for so many years, that she had the second generation of the original school children on her bus. Her bus was guided by Godís love and the rule of the Ten Commandments of which her school children respectfully followed. Besides being a busy working mother, Faye also found time for her children and grandchildren. She gave of herself unselfishly during the illness and deaths of her two sons, Peter in 1978 and Paul in 2000. Faye took a special interest in arts and crafts, especially counted-cross stitch and crocheting; priding herself in making afghans for family members and friends as special baby and wedding gifts. Faye was also a fond collector of angels, believing that her Guardian Angel was always present, watching over her. The mantel at her home is evident of this with a beautiful display of angels she had collected over the years.

Survivors include her caring husband of 56 years; Arthur, daughters; Sandra (David) Huehner of West Bend Wis.,, and Nancy Nordin Bushar of Tomahawk Wis.; daughter-in-law Melva (Marty) Stockwell of Salem Wis.; grandson Jonathan Huehner and honorary grandchildren Andrew, Patrick, and Katie Stockwell. Faye is also survived by brothers/sisters-in-law; Glen and Amy Nordin, Dave (Maryanne) Nordin, Manette and Don Raboin, Judy Nordin, Doug Nordin, Gloria (Stewart) Hannon, Bob and Shirley Nordin, and Ron and Julee Nordin.

Faye was preceded in death by her infant sister Fern Schwartz, brother Gerhardt "Gary" Schwartz and two sons Peter and Paul Nordin.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at the Anderson Diehm Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Chaplin Craig Mansur officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Online condolences may be made to anderson-diehm@sbcglobal.net
