Doug E. Potter, 65

Doug E. Potter, 65, of Burlington, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at his home.

 He was born Aug. 15, 1943 in West Bend to Earl Walter and Ruth Rose (nee Raddeman) Potter. He spent his early life in West Bend. 

He received his Master's Degree from UW-LaCrosse and continued his graduate work there and at UW-Milwaukee. 

On Feb. 15, 2003 he married Kathleen Mary Stockwell Kind in Burlington. Following marriage they made their home in the Burlington area. 

Doug was Superintendent of Westosha Central High School. He was a member of Elmbrook Church and a former member of Kiwanis. 

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Burlington, step-daughters, Amy (Justin) Snyder of Burlington, Sara (Kurt) Spencer of New Berlin, Amber Panawash of Waukesha, grandchildren, Kadence and Natalie Spencer, brother, Kenneth (Vicki) Potter of West Bend, niece Michelle (Dave) Fagan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and nephews, Jeffrey Potter of Ormond Beach, FL and Zachary Potter of West Bend. 

He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home in Burlington with Dr. Douglas Schoen officiating. 

Burial will take place on Monday, Jan. 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Burlington. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday, Jan. 4th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Mullane and his staff for the care they gave Doug. They also wish to thank family and friends and the staff and students at Westosha Central for all their love and support.
