Loretta A. Bales
Loretta A. Bales, nee Pastors, of West Bend, completed her journey here on earth and entered her eternal home in Heaven, on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Samaritan Health Center at the age of 98. She was born on October 20, 1910 in the Town of Barton to the late John and Mary (nee Matenaer) Pastors.
On June 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to Raymond "Ray" B. Bales at St. Mary's Immaculte Conception Church. Ray passed away on March 28, 2004.
Survivors include 4 children: Ronald (Bonnie) of West Lafayette, IN, Kenneth (Marilyn) of Campbellsport, Allen (Sue) of West Bend and Mary Jane Moths of Turlock, CA; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Rosemary Bingen of West Bend; 1 sister-in-law Sylvia (Eugene) Belunes of West Bend; 4 brothers-in-law Alex Bales, Franklin (Margaret) Bales, Walter Hoeft and Robert Hoeft, all of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister Marie Bales, 2 brothers Henry and wife Eleanor Pastors, Joe and wife Frances Pastors and 2 brothers-in-law Delbert Bingen and Sylvester and wife Alice Bales, 2 sisters-in-law Rosie Hoeft and Delores Hoeft.
Ray and Loretta farmed 41 years in the Kewaskum area. They were members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kewaskum. Loretta was a member of Holy Trinity Ladies Altar Society.
Loretta shared her love of cooking and making desserts with her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and making quilts with her sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 1 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Jerry Brittain presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Kewaskum. Visitation will be at the church only on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
