Helen Bauer, 99

Helen Baer (Burckhardt) of Slinger, passed away Saturday Jan. 10, 2008, at the Washington County Samaritan Health Center in West Bend at the age of 99 years.

Helen was born on Nov. 23, 1909, in Fond du Lac to George and Caroline (Tracket) Burckardt. She married the late Oscar on Nov. 30, 1933, at Holy Angels Church in West Bend.

Helen retired from the West Bend Company in 1973.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, spending time with her family and helping out when she could.

She enjoyed driving up north to Harrison, crochet, artwork and taking walks.

Helen was a member of St. Peterís Catholic Church in Slinger.

Helen is survived by her children, Tom (Diane) of West Bend, Caroline (James Braatz) of West Bend and Richard (Janice) of Mukwonago. Further survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, six step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar in 1954; three sisters, Mary Trinwinth, Kate Burckhardt, Harriet Lewis; and two brothers, Ralph and Edward Burckhardt.

A memorial service for Helen will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend with Fr. Richard Stoffel officiating

Visitation for Helen will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m.

Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park at a later date.
