Johanette M. Forge

Johanette M. Forge (Kirtchen) of Hartford went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Hartford Care Center. She was 96 years old.

Johanette was born June 27, 1912, in Sheboygan to Edward and Anne (Rohan) Forge.

She was united in marriage to George S. Forge on Nov. 9, 1946, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Milwaukee.

Johanette was past president and graduate of the Holy Angels class of 1931. She graduated from Marquette University in 1946, earning a nursing degree.

Johanette worked as an R.N. supervisor on the second shift until her retirement from the Hartford Hospital.

She is survived by two children, George (Cheryl) of Hartford and James Forge of Waupun; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Novotny, George N. Forge, and Christopher (Stephanie) Peterson; five great-grandchildren, Carys Novotny, Malachi, Samuel, Kaleb and Mariah Peterson; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Forge. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Johanette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; two brothers, Fredrick and John (Florence) Kirtchen; her sister, Mary (Joseph) Flynn; and her brother-in-law, Robert Forge.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, W302 N9583 O'Neil Road, Monches.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford.

Interment at the St. John Cemetery, Monches.
