Arline E. Burhop

Arline E. Burhop (nee Barth) of Port Washington (formerly of Mequon) passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at the age of 86. Funeral services will be held for Arline at 11 a.m. on Jan. 22 at St. Johnís Lutheran Church, 1616 W. Mequon Road, in Mequon. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mueller Funeral Home, 979 N. Green Bay Road, in Grafton. A second visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Lakefield Cemetery in Grafton.

Arline E. Burhop was born on Aug. 11, 1922 in Mequon, the daughter of Paul and Adelia (née Haeuser) Barth. Arline was the beloved wife of nearly 63 years to the late Carl E. Burhop. She was the loving mother of Robert (Judith) Burhop, Kathleen (Arnold) Mezera and Sandra (Joe) Burhop; the loving grandma of Brian (Renee) Burhop, Brenda (Randy) Knutson, Steven (Theresa) Schmechel, Laurie (Steven) Schwartz, Linda Schmechel, Jason (fiancée Katie) Johns, Nicole (Michael) Boettcher, Anthony Conigliaro and Nathan Conigliaro; the loving great-grandma of Brent, Breanne and Brendan Burhop, Kailey, Cade and Kinzie Knutson, Jonathan and Grace Schmechel, Celia and Ben Schwartz and Darius Johns. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arline was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Darlene Ann; her brothers, Archie and Allen; and her parents.

The family of Arline expresses their heartfelt appreciation to Karen and her staff at Port Haven Assisted Living in Port Washington for their compassion and dedicated care. Also special thanks to Seasons Hospice for their specialized care and attention given to Arline over the last several months.
