Francis O. Albinger, 79

Francis O. "Curly" Albinger of West Bend died on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Aurora Medical Center, Hartford at the age of 79.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1930, in Leroy to the late Otto P. and Alma K. (Gundrum) Albinger.

As a child, his family moved to West Bend.

He attended Holy Angels School and later graduated from West Bend High School.

He entered the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Following his discharge, he returned to West Bend.

On Jan. 21, 1967 he was united in marriage to Dianne L. Steinbach in West Bend.

For a few years, he worked for the former Wisconsin Gas Co.

He then became employed as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service, retiring after 28 years.

For 11 years, he was a deliveryman with Xtra Messenger Service.

He was a devoted family man and enjoyed camping.

He was a member of the West Bend Lodge 1398 Loyal Order Of Moose, and the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne; three children, Peter J. (Courtney), Glen A. (Veronica) and Barbara K.; two granddaughters, Megan and Heather; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son, Terry; three brothers; and two sisters.

At Curly’s request, no services will be held.

Memorials to the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association are appreciated.

Curly’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many people who cared for Curly and his family, including Dr. Tye and his staff at the Aurora Health Center in Hartford, the nursing staff at the Aurora Medical Center, Hartford, and the caregivers of the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association.
