Joseph T. “Joe”
Joseph T. “Joe” Lochen, 85, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on June 30, 2009, in the company of his loving family.
Joe was born on March 19, 1924, in the village of Newburg. He was the youngest son of John and Elizabeth Lochen.
Joseph was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Parish in Newburg. He actively volunteered his time to his parish and the community. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the State Bank of Newburg.
At age 19, Joe joined his uncle and eventually became the president of Lochen Ford, also known as the John P. Lochen Company, Inc. He enjoyed being a successful businessman, skilled mechanic and master plumber. He loved traveling, camping and fishing. Most of all, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing basketball, ping pong, cribbage and sheepshead.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille, in 1987.
He will be dearly missed by his dear wife, Doris (Fechter) Lochen of Jackson. Joe will be lovingly missed by his children, Sue (Kenneth) Gregory of Millington, Tenn., Michael (Jeanine) Lochen of West Bend, and Lori (Jeffrey) Ertz of Waukesha. Joe was predeceased by son, Joseph, Jr. He is also survived by stepchildren, Charles (Mona) Fechter and Sherry Kannass; grandchildren, Brenda (Steffan) Contant, Jodi (Earl) Johnson, Terry Nyleen, Michael (Rachel) Lochen, Matthew (Andrea) Lochen, Elizabeth Rohde, Daniel Lochen, Alex Rohde, Rebecca Rohde, Amanda Lochen and Hannah Rohde; step-grandchildren, Jessica, Brittany and Gretchen Ertz; and great-grandchildren, Koty Nyleen, Andrew and Jamie Fechter. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
For all who knew and loved Joe, especially his family, we are grateful that he was part of our lives and he will always be in our hearts and spirits. Joe was a man with a golden heart, full of love, faith, character, honesty and integrity. We were all blessed with his wisdom and love.
Joe - husband, Dad and Grandpa - we will love and miss you always.
Visitation for Joe will be held from 3 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. Mass on Monday, July 6, at Holy Trinity Church, 521 Congress St., Newburg. The Rev. Kevin Kowalske will officiate and the Rev. Jeffrey Haines will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery on Tuesday, July 7.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Heartland Hospice or Ivy Manor of Jackson.
