Raymond H. Hoefert

Raymond H. Hoefert, 89, of Slinger, passed away on July 5, 2009, at his residence.

Raymond was born on May 18, 1920, to August and Frieda (nee Keller) Hoefert in the township of Granville. He married the late Ruth Clara (nee Miller) on March 21, 1942, at Grace Evalgelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. They devoted their entire lives to their family dairy farm which included 150 acres and 45 dairy cows. After retiring from dairy farming, he plowed snow for the town of Polk. For the last five years, he was the fairway groomer for Hidden Glenns Golf Course. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and friends. Ray was also a regular blood donor for the Wisconsin Blood Center, donating 125 pints of blood. Ray was always there to offer a helping hand in any situation. He was a member of the Milwaukee Accordion Club of Franklin.

Raymond is survived by his children, Nancy (Allen) Schulz of Slinger and Raymond (special friend Kathy) Hoefert, Jr. of Cedarburg. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Scott (Lori) Schulz of West Bend, Brian (Tracie) Schulz of Mallard, Iowa, Brenda (Brent) McAllister of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Jennifer (Ryan) Finger of Kewaskum and Amanda Hoefert of Allenton; great-grandchildren, Larry McAllister, Taylor and Ava Schulz, Clara and Cohen Schulz, Caleb and Caitlin Finger; his loving feline companion, Miss Kitty; sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Ruth; brothers, Ervin and Harold.

A funeral service will be on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with the Rev. Sharon Stier officiating. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 9, from 4 p.m. until time of service. Memorials are appreciated to Faith UCC or the Washington Co. Humane Society.
