Donald “Don” M. Duehr


Donald “Don” M. Duehr, 78, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Don was born July 4, 1931, in Milwaukee to Matt and Johanna (nee Aufdermauer) Duehr. 

Don worked his entire career for A.O. Smith as a Systems Analyst. He was an avid angler and loved golfing, traveling, and hanging out at the coffee house with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his children, Jennifer Mantei of Texas, David (Beth) of Waukesha, Elizabeth (Tom) Draeger of Waukesha and MaryAnne (Joel) Eigner of Fall Creek; his grandchildren, Jakob, Thomas, Rose, Violet and Irene; his brother, Gerald (Marlene) Duehr of Sussex. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 State St., Hartford, with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at St. Kilian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The family wishes to express thanks to Dr. Treisman, Dr. Florescu, all the nurses at Aurora Health Care Center and especially Pat Genthe at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.
