John Walter Herlinger
John Walter Herlinger, 71, of the town of Trenton passed away July 22, 2009, at Vista Hospital in Waukegan, Ill.
John was born on August 21, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo., to Lowell and Carotha (nee Jenkins) Herlinger. Johnís family moved to Milwaukee during his high school years and he graduated from Milwaukee Riverside High School, class of 1956. On March 3, 1962, John married his wife Diane (nee Beyer) in Milwaukee.
John was a retiree of the Xerox Corp, was active on the town of Trenton Planning Commission and past Scoutmaster for Jackson Boy Scout Troop 787. John loved the outdoors, watching birds, fishing, teaching his sons how to hunt, camping trips to Spearhead Campground and just traveling.
John is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane; his two sons, Chris (Laure) of Saukville, Mark (Katherine) of Milwaukee; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Patricia, Emily, Seth, Jullian; sister-in-law, Kathy (Tary) Kirsch; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lowell; and a grandson, Phillip.
A memorial service for John will be held on Sunday July 26, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 26, from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Washington County Humane Society are appreciated.
