Rose M. Meunier

Rose M. Meunier (nee Goschey), 96, of West Bend, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Samaritan Health Center.

She was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Waubeka to the late John and Mary (nee Thill) Goschey and married Peter Meunier on Nov. 5, 1931, in Grafton. Peter preceded her in death on June 8, 1949.

Rose and Peter settled in West Bend in 1936. She was employed at Enger Kress for 35 years, retiring in 1977. Rose enjoyed bingo trips with her family and friends and also liked playing cards, especially sheepshead.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lillian Montgomery of Milwaukee and Betty Meunier of West Bend; three grandchildren, Diane Montgomery of Milwaukee, Donna (Edward) Langwasser of Milwaukee and Sue Ellen (Irving) Diamond of Agoura Hills, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Leah Langwasser and Monroe Diamond. She is further survived by her siblings, Mathilda Rady of West Bend, Florence Rady of West Bend, Marie Behrens of Fremont, Dolores Skalla of Milwaukee and George (Nancy) Goschey of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Florence Meunier of Kiel; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; her husband, Peter; a sister, Adeline Pfalz; and a brother, Arnold Goschey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Burial will follow in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 5:30 p.m. and also Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Masses or memorials to Holy Angels Catholic Church are appreciated.

Rose’s family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff on the third and fourth floors at the Samaritan Health Center, Dr. Muhammad Main and Cedar Community Hospice for the kind and loving care given to Rose.
