Emilie Zulick, 83
Emilie Zulick (nee Klees), 83, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1925, in Hop Bottom, Pa., to the late Kristian and Elisabeth (nee Sheffler) Klees. After high school, Emilie went on to become a registered nurse, earning her degree in 1949 at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital. She later studied at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
On June 6, 1953, Emilie was united in marriage to Samuel Morton Zulick in Hop Bottom, Pa. Around the country wherever they took up residence, Emilie always found herself nursing in a hospital. Emilie was a caring and dedicated nurse with a strong compassion for the innocent and suffering. In 2006, Emilie and Mort moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend to enjoy their retirement.
She is survived by her husband, S. Morton Zulick of West Bend; four children, Elizabeth (Alan) Socol of Greensboro, N.C., Margaret D. (Andrew Leslie) Zulick, Ph.D., of Winston-Salem, N.C., Kristina (Mark Roth) Zulick-Roth of West Bend and Anne (Tom) Milkovich of Clyde Park, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Max and Robin Socol, Elizabeth and Emily Roth, Samuel, Isabel and Maryrose Milkovich; a sister, Elizabeth (Felix) Oleniacz of Montrose, Pa.; a brother, Otto (Emma) Klees of South Gibson, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Zulick of Matamoras, Pa.; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Leopold.
A memorial service in remembrance of Emilie will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 4 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, with the Rev. Frank Turpin officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
