Eugene Joseph Krell

Eugene Joseph Krell, 70, of West Bend, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, surrounded by his wife and children.

Gene was born in St. Michael on Dec. 16, 1938, to George and Anna (nee Vondrachek) Krell. After graduating from Kewaskum High School, Gene spent three years working at the Goldbank’s mercury mine in Nevada, where he met Barbara. In 1959, he married his loving and devoted wife, Barbara (nee Wholey), and they moved back to West Bend. Gene enjoyed spending time with children, and spent six years as a crossing guard for McLane School District. Gene retired from Gehl’s Company after 43 years of dedicated service. Gene enjoyed traveling, jewelry making and his Datsun 280 ZX. Gene was also a member of Moose Lodge 1938 Hexel Bank.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Craig (Theresa), Bryon (Sheri) and Paula Wilber. He is further survived by his mother, Anna, and his beloved grandchildren, Jesse, Fallon, Chyanne, Christina, Cari, Casey, Zach and Kayla. Gene will also be missed by his beloved dog, Cupcake. Gene is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, George, and in-laws, Walter and Lavern Wholey.

Christian burial services will be on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Philip Funeral Home of West Bend with the Rev. Jeffery Haines officiating. Interment will take place at Old St. Peter’s Cemetery of Newburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home in West Bend on Thursday, June 11, from 11 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Community Hospice, Dr. Gibson, Dr. Gould and Dr. Arshad for their care and concern.
