Barbara Shebanek (nee Corkrean) died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Riverside methodist Hospital.
She was born in Lewisburg, W. Va., and was a graduate of Lewisburg High School and Marshall University. Barbara lived in West Bend for 35 years, where her husband, John, practiced veterinary medicine. They retired in Worthington, Ohio, in 1992. An avid shopper, she and her husband enjoyed gardening and politics, not always in agreement.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John P. Shebanek Jr.; son, John P. Shebanek III.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Keith) Beauchamp of Yardley, Penn., daughter-in-law, Karen Shebanek; granddaughters, Katy and Emily Shebanek, all of West Bend; sisters, Evelyn Corkrean and Agnes Fallon, both of Columbus; brothers, Philip (Marcella) Corkrean of Huntington, W. Va., Edward (Judy) Corkrean of Lost Creek, W. Va., and Patrick (Frances) Corkrean of Westerville; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio, The Rev. Kevin Kavanagh celebrant. Interment will be at Resurrection cemetery.
