Jean Myers, 87
Jean Myers, 87, of
Antigo, died Saturday June 20, under the loving care of LeRoyer Hospice
and the caregivers at Rosalia Gardens.
Mrs. Myers was born July 15, 1921 in Birmingham,
Ala. to the late Anthony Hewlett and Madge (Nee Hillsman) Johnson.
On Dec. 8, 1945 she married Richard
"Dick" Myers in Birmingham.
Mrs. Myers attended high school in Alabama and
went on to graduate from the University of Alabama. She and her husband
lived in Ohio and Virginia before coming to Wisconsin where they resided
in West Bend for many years. Most recently they moved to Antigo.
A displaced southerner for most of her adult life,
she never lost her southern grace and charm.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, and enjoyed volunteering for her church and local
hospital.
She was a member of Fifth Avenue Methodist Church
in West Bend.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Myers is survived
by 2 sons; Dr. J. Randy (Jamie) Myers of Polar and Richard B. Myers of
Manhattan Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren Aubrey and Cory Myers; and
nephews Hill Johnson, Glenn Johnson, and their families. She was preceded
in death by her brother Richard Johnson.
Though Alzheimer’s claimed her memory, it could
not take away her sympathy and her cheerful gracious nature. She loved to
nurture things – her family and her gardens.
A memorial service will be held on Friday July 10,
2009 at Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in West Bend at 11 a.m., with Rev.
Janis Best officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 10
a.m.until the service.

the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin, 203 Schiek Plaza, Rhinelander,
WI 54501.
