Donald Adam Yochem
Donald Adam Yochem, 79, of West Bend passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at Virginia Highlands Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Donald was born on April 7, 1929 to William and Hildegard (nee Krueger) Yochem in Slinger. He married Ardell (nee Tackes) on July 26, 1952 at St. Maryís Church in Random Lake.
Donald worked at Slinger Foundry for 27 years as an iron pourer, then Slinger Mfg. for seven years before retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, gardening and raising poultry. Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Donald is survived by his wife, Ardell; his children, Linda Gavin of Slinger, Donna Brown of St. Johnís, Fla., Christine (Kevin) Gagnon of Biddeford, Maine, Donald Jr., Michael (Angie), and Lori all of West Bend; 12 grandchildren, Jeff, Shawn, Deanna, Aaron, Desiree, Shanah, Amber, Brian, Ginny, Megan, Jacob, and Kyle; two sisters, Jeanette (Bruce) Boudry of Fond du Lac, Noreta (Eugene) Wiedmeyer of West Bend; uncle, Arthur (Eleanor) Krueger; brother in-law, Elmer ( Hildegarde) Tackes of Oak Creek; and his sister in-law, Kathleen (Gil) Carlson of Fond du Lac.
Donald is further survived by 15 great grandchildren and 30 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, father in-law Ed, five nephews, an infant niece, a great-niece, five sisters in-law and five brothers in-law, and his dog "Rusty."
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend with Chaplain Ron Schneider officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 4 from 4 p.m. to time of service at 7 p.m.
