Marion R. Schaefer

Marion R. Schaefer (nee Schloemer), 84, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Cedar Lake Health & Rehabilitation Center in West Bend.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1924, in West Bend to the late Oscar and Elsie (nee Wegner) Schloemer and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1941. She then attended business college in Milwaukee. Marion worked at the Enger Cress Company until May 12, 1951, when she was united in marriage to Clarence Schaefer in Allenton. Together they made their home in West Bend. Clarence passed away on April 30, 1992. Marion was a member of St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing sheephead and loved her family.

Marion is survived by four children: Barbara (Jerry) Kuckuk of West Bend, James Schaefer of West Bend, Carolyn Mueller of Mayville and Paul (Rannie) Schaefer of West Bend; 12 grandchildren: Jeanie, Brenda, Jacqueline, Julie, Jessica, Jamie, Junior, Jay, April, Grace, Benjamin and Amanda; six great-grandchildren, Thomas, Miranda, Alexandria, Tylor, Nicholas and Jayce; other relatives and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Diane Schaefer.

Funeral services in remembrance of Marion will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue. The Rev. George Mumm will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
