Arthur W. Patzer
Arthur W. Patzer, 92, of Mequon, died peacefully Thursday morning, March 5, 2009, at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc.
Arthur was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Gillett, the son of the late Emanuel and Ottilie (nee Bach) Patzer. On Aug. 25, 1945, he married the former Georgia Ramsey at Hope Lutheran Church, Milwaukee.
Arthur worked for Harnischfeger Corp. until his retirement on October 1978. He loved to spend time with his family, fishing, woodworking and taking summer trips up north to the cottage.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Georgia Patzer, Mequon; his beloved children, daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and John Flickinger, Poynette; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Sharon Patzer, Beaver Dam; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rudolph Patzer, Shawano; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David Patzer, three brothers and his twin sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 10, 2009, at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thiensville. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Don Scheuerlein, with burial to take place at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
The Schramka-Densow Funeral Home in Thiensville is assisting the Patzer family with funeral arrangements.
