Dorothy G. Mayer

Dorothy G. Mayer (nee Koch), 87, of Newburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.
 

She was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Milwaukee to the late Gustav and Wanda (nee Zenker) Koch and married Richard J. Mayer on April 26, 1941, in West Bend. Richard preceded her in death on June 7, 1987. 
 

Dorothy worked at the West Bend Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1983. In her later years she enjoyed senior bus trips. For the last seven years, Dorothy was a resident of Virginia Highlands in Germantown.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and would often cook for everybody.
 

Dorothy was an active member of the 25-year club of the West Bend Company.
 

Survivors include her four children: Barb (Michael) Nolan of Whitefish Bay, Andy (Sandy) of Newburg, Jim (Jody) of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., and Linda (John) Marshall of Ogema; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her former daughter-in-law, Margie (LeRoy) Wolf of Hartford, her sister Emma Reimer of Manitowoc, a niece, other relatives and friends.
 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Gustav and Wanda Koch, her husband, Richard, and her son, Mike.
 

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. George Mumm officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Newburg. Visitation will be Monday, at the funeral home from noon noon until 2:45 p.m.
