Paul A. Buckreus

Paul A. Buckreus of Hartford was born to eternal life on Sunday, April 26, 2009, and resides in his heavenly home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1925, the son of Francis A. and Elsa (nee Klug) Buckreus.

Paul served his country in the US Army during WWII. He taught Sunday school at Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Paul retired from Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of service. He enjoyed reading the classics and listening to classical music. Paul was a very devout Christian. His family was very important to him. Paul enjoyed being around people and was a kind, gentle, generous person who loved his family. He will be remembered as being a very personable man.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Lechner, and her husband, John. He is survived by other relatives and friends.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 7, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 225 West Lincoln Avenue, Hartford. Memorial service will follow at the church at 5 p.m. The Rev. Jessica Short will officiate. Interment will be Monday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is serving the family.
