Edward F. Knuth, 81, of
West Bend
, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Kathy Hospice.
Ed was born on Dec. 5,
1927, to Leo and Ella (nee Matter) in
Austin
,
Minn.
He married the late Hilda (nee Kluever) Knuth on August 27, 1949, at
St. John’s
Lutheran
Church
of the Town of
Trenton
. Ed enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and various
church office duties. He also liked to paint, play sheepshead and travel
with his family. Ed was a member of Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church of
West Bend.
Ed is survived by his
children, Allen (Margaret) of Mount Holly, N.J., Robert (Susan) of Vine
Grove, Ky., Gary (Patrice) of West Bend, Mark (Teri) of Ames, Iowa, and
Nancy (Mark) Rosenthal of West Bend. He is further survived by 13
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorene Knuth of
Port Washington
; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by
his parents; brother, Wilfred; brothers-in-law, Walter, Arthur and Henry;
sisters-in-law, Louise, Eleanor and Anita.
A funeral service will be
on Sunday, May 10, 2009, at 5 p.m. at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church
of West Bend with the Rev. Joseph Fisher and the Rev Christopher Roffa
officiating. Interment will take place at
Washington
County
Memorial Park
. Visitation will be at the church only on Sunday, May 10, from 3 p.m.
until time of service. Memorials
