Gail (Martin) Vanden Branden Janis Gail (Martin) Vanden Branden, 59, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Friday, May 15, 2009, at her home, with her husband and dog by her side. She was born in (Ottinger) Martin. Janis was a 1968 graduate of School for three and a half years. On April 6, 1974, Janis married Randall R. Vanden Branden in Point 1977. She enjoyed traveling, amateur interior decorating, playing tennis, and gardening. Survivors include her husband, Randall of 35 years; Kay, “The Rescued Dog;” brother, James R. Martin of Custer; cousin, Kathleen (James) Hautala of Greendale; aunt, Lorraine Dahms of Franklin; grandmother, Mary Martin of Stevens Point; mother-in-law, Dorothy Vanden Branden of Green Bay; nieces, Mara Martin of Custer, Amber (Danno) Hoff and their daughters Maya and Zoe of Wausau; and Annie Bins of Green Bay; sisters-in-law, Joan (Kevin) Thorpe of Spencer, N.Y., Kathleen Vanden Branden of Green Bay, and Linda (Daniel) Bins of Green Bay; brother-in-law, James (Kim) Vanden Branden of Green Bay; and nephews, Branden Thorpe of Spencer, N.Y., Trevor Thorpe of Los Angeles, Dillon (special friend, Alicia Tiemann) Vanden Branden of Green Bay, Brian Bins of Green Bay and Bill Bins of Green Bay. In addition to her parents, Janis is preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry Martin and Ernst and Anna Ottinger; sister-in- law, Cindy Martin; father-in-law, Donald Vanden Branden; and grandmother-in-law, Lucy Anderson. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, Pere. Online condolences may be expressed to Janis’ family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
