Sy Walczak

Sy Walczak, 77, of Grafton, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 17,
2009, at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, from complications of
Alzheimer’s disease.

Sy was born Dec. 29, 1931 in Milwaukee , the son of Waclaw and
Stephania Walczak. After graduating from Lincoln High School , Sy
served in the U.S. Navy from which he was honorably discharged in
1954. After graduating with honors from Marquette University in 1959,
Sy worked in advertising sales for several years before starting his
career as a stockbroker, becoming vice president of Fredrick & Co.
and then working at Shearson American Express and National Securities
until he retired in the early 2000s.

In 1965, Sy married Sue Ann Baar of Kohler.
Sy loved life. His passions were golf and scuba diving and his dog,
Daisy. He also enjoyed fishing, skiing, tennis and even parachuting.
As a couple, Sy and Sue Ann, his wife of 44 years, enjoyed being
together – playing golf and tennis, attending plays and concerts,
rooting for the Packers and Badgers, spending time in Kohler,
reading, and just “hanging out.”

Sy will be sorely missed by his wife, “Susie” and beloved dog, Daisy.
He is further survived by one sister, Genevieve Barcz of Wauwatosa
nieces, nephews and friends.

Special appreciation to the caring staff of the Mental Health Unit at
Columbia Hospital (thank you, Dave) as well as the Columbia Hospice
Staff.

Private graveside services will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.
Remembrances may be made in Sy’s name to your local humane society.
“May the teardrops on my pillow bespeak the pain in my heart.”
Good night, sweet prince.
