Walter E. Warnkey

Walter E. Warnkey, 97, of Kewaskum, formerly of West Bend, died on Monday, May 18, 2009, at Kettle Moraine Gardens.

He was born on July 24, 1911, in West Bend to the late Charles and Augusta (nee Wegner). On Nov. 12, 1938, he was united in marriage to Thecla A. Hirschboeck at Holy Angels Rectory. Thecla predeceased Oct. 28, 2002.

In 1976, he retired from the West Bend Company, where he was employed as a production worker for more than 40 years. Since November 2008, Wally has lived in Kewaskum. He was a member of the 25 Year Club at West Bend Company.

Survivors include two children, Jim (Joyce) of Kewaskum and Kathy (Bruce Winsor) of Eaton, Md.; two grandsons, Jimmer (Sue) and Troy; a great-grandson, Nathan; two sisters-in-law, Norma Warnkey of West Bend and Linda Hirschboeck of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Wolf and Clara Lehn. and a brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with the Rev. George Mumm officiating. Burial will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 6:45 p.m.
