Susan R. Otten
Susan R. Otten, 76, of Barton was born to eternal life on May 20, 2009.
She was the best friend and beloved wife of 54 years of Eugene; the cherished mother of Henry (Barb) of Brookfield and Lynda (Fritz) Dramm of Manitowoc; a deeply loving grandmother of Sarah, Nick, Elise, Sophia, Emma and Clara; and was a dear sister to Gretchen Schmidt of West Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Malinda (nee Bingen) Bumiller and a brother Alvin, Jr.
Sue loyally worked with her husband Gene in Otten’s Food Market for over 42 years, serving the customers in the Barton area. After closing the store, she really enjoyed working part-time with her good friends at Pick ‘N Save North. She loved her work families and was admired and respected by countless co-workers and customers who shared their lives with Sue.
She will be remembered for her generosity, selfless giving, patience, work ethic, welcoming home and lovingly prepared meals.
Being a faithful catholic, she practiced her religion with devotion and good works. Through her Catholic faith, Sue courageously faced life’s challenges. Safely home with the Lord, her beautiful smiling eyes and radiant personality will be greatly missed. Throughout her life, she touched many people with her kindness and compassion.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.
She was a member of the Christian Womens Confraternity and the Adrian Neubauer VFW Auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, at 5 p.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Private burial will be held. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday at the church only from noon until 4:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or Kathy Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gajic, Dr. Herdrich, the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the entire staff at Kathy Hospice for the loving care, compassion and expertise they showed Sue and the family.
You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
