James "Jim"Alan Wink
James "Jim"Alan Wink, 64, of Wausaukee, died unexpectedly at his "favorite place," his residence, on Monday, May 25, 2009.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1944, in Milwaukee, the son of Melvin and Lucille (nee Vindick) Wink. On May 8, 1956, he married his "high-school sweetheart," the former Karen Bolender, in Oak Creek. The couple moved to Wausaukee in 2000 after Jim retired from American Family Insurance, where he was employed for 30 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, canoeing and outdoor activities. He worked as a volunteer for the DNR, where he conducted wolf tracking and lake water testing.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his sons, Shannon (Lori) Wink of Cedarburg and Craig Wink of Hartford; his brother, Michael (Kathy) Wink of Wausaukee; his sister, Sharon (Richard) Willan of Wausaukee; and his grandchildren, Kelly Brook Wink, Ethan Wink, Kaitlin Wink, Nicole Wink and Tyler Wink, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Lucille Wink.
Visitation will be at New Hope United Church of Christ in Jackson, on Sunday May 31, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m., with funeral services to follow. The Rev. James Hill will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
Jim loved his wife, sons and grandchildren greatly. He will be missed by his family and friends, and remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
