Arthur Lundeen, 92, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1917, in East Moline, Ill., to David Alexander and Minnie (nee Liebert) Lundeen. On Aug. 10, 1938, he married his sweetheart Kathryn (nee Jones).
Arthur served in Japan in WWII. He retired from St. Charles Kitchens after a dedicated 35 years of service. Arthur was also a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Elgin, Ill., and was active in both the Golden K and Elgin Garden Club. Arthur considered family his main focus and was always there for them.
Arthur is survived by his children Ellen (David) Vernon of West Bend, Karen (Dale) Roberts of Sugar Grove, Ill., and Brian (Cathy) Lundeen of Elm Grove. Beloved grandpa to Christopher (Michelle) Vernon, Nathan (Annette) Vernon, Kathy (Michael) Berger, Stefanie (Pete) Harger, Timothy and Ryan Roberts, Jack, Craig and Will Lundeen. Proud great-grandpa to Rachel, Nathan and Andrew Vernon, Jonathan and Noah Vernon, and Ethan and Emmerson Berger. Also loved by many other relatives and friends.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and wife of 59 years, Kathryn.
A funeral service for Arthur will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at St. Johnís of West Bend Evangelical Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend, with the Rev. Jeff Dorth officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Monday, Nov. 9, from 4 p.m. until time of services. Burial will take place at Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, Ill.
