Blanche E. Hawig, 89

    Blanche E. Hawig, 89, of the town of West Bend, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab.
    She was born on April 19, 1920, to Michael and Violenta (nee Zimmel) Darmody.
    On July 1, 1941, Blanche married Wilmer J. Hawig and began her family. She was a retiree of Amity Leather Co. after 28 years of service. Blanche enjoyed traveling, crocheting and playing cards specifically sheepshead.
    Blanche is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Bruce) Roell, and son, Ronald (Sandra) Hawig. She is the adoring grandmother to Pam (Todd) Gnacinski, Ryan (Kimberly) Roell, Jennifer (Steve) Rindt, Timothy (Mandy) Hawig and Scott (Rachel) Hawig; great-grandmother to Ava Roell, Jacob and Grace Hawig; sister of Hazel Weinand, Wesley (Pearl) Darmody, Jerry (Marian) Darmody and Vivian (Wally) Bartelt; sisterin-law of Norma Weitor and Mildred Hawig. Blanche is further survived by other relatives and friends.
    Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Clyde Darmody; sisters-in-law Mildred Darmody, Sally Weske, Margaret Hawig and Viola Hawig; brothers-in-law, Gene Weinand, Herb Weske, Leo Weitor, Al Hawig and Edward Hawig.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Brittain officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 1 p.m. until time of Mass. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park on Wednesday.
