Helen M. Melaney-Niemuth (nee Kanneman), 83, of West Bend, died on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1926, in the township of Crystal Lake in Marquette County, to the late Arthur and Ella (nee Bartz) Kanneman.
She was a member of St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Survivors include two children, Mike (Terry) Melaney of West Bend and Jack Melaney of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Amber Melaney, Sarah Melaney, Shannon Melaney and Brandon Melaney, all of West Bend, and Thomas and Shawna, both of Fond du Lac; five sisters, Hilda Olson of Redgranite, Alice (Bob) Grabe of Berline, Avis Luedke of Neshkoro, Edna (Eddie) Blaski of Waukesha and Doris Domiter of Oshkosh; two brothers, David (Karen) Kanneman of Ripon and Roger Kanneman of Markesan; two sisters-in-law, Ellie Fietz of Janesville and Betty Niemuth of Watertown; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Melaney and Burt Niemuth; a daughter, Christine Ann Melaney; eight brothers, Arthur, Ralph, Harold, Lester, Elmer, Harvey, Earl and Donald; two sisters, Shirley and Ethel; three sisters-in-law, Carol Baum, Lola Johnson and Mary Sobieski; and three brothers-in-law, Leland Niemuth, Roger Niwmuth and Leigh Melaney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. George Mumm officiating. Burial will be Friday in Newark Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.
The family has requested memorials to the Alzheimerís Association.
