Jon W. Kaiser


Jon W. Kaiser, 71, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.


He was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Manitowoc, the son of William J. and Evelyn M. Mertens Kaiser. On Aug. 12, 1961, Jon married Patricia M. Bristow in Hastings, Minn.

Jon received his masters degree in guidance and counseling from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colo., in 1967. He was a guidance counselor, physical education instructor and basketball coach at Valders High School from 1960 to 1968. From 1968 to 1977 he was a guidance counselor and basketball coach at West Bend West High School. Jon then received his certification in administration and served as an administrator at West Bend East High School for two years. He then became the principal at New London High School from 1977 to 1985. Jon retired in 1995 as principal of Goodrich High School, Fond du Lac.

Jon was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Rolling Meadows Golf League and the YMCA. Jon enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, golfing, music, spending the winters in Florida with his wife, Pat, solving crosswords and was an avid sports fan. Jon also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and following their sporting events and musical activities.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; three children, Brenda (Dan) McFaul of New London, Bill (Nancy) Kaiser of Fond du Lac, Bob (Sara) Kaiser of Winneconne; four grandchildren, Shauna McFaul, Chad McFaul, Robyn McFaul, Jada Kaiser and expecting a granddaughter in December. Jon is further survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Arthur Callies officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.
 

A memorial will be established in Jonís name.
