Doris A. “Cookie” Nisleit
Doris A. “Cookie” Nisleit, 54, of West Bend passed away peacefully Friday morning, Oct. 9, 2009, at The Kathy Hospice, in the town of Polk after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the former Doris A. Matzen, born Aug. 16, 1955, in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Warren and Betty Jane (nee Kubale) Matzen.
She was a 1973 graduate of Kiel High School.
On March 6, 1987, she married David Nisleit in West Bend.
Doris had worked at the West Bend Company for a number of years before being employed at The Threshold Inc. in West Bend as a production specialist the past 23 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to casinos, camping in the Wisconsin Dells area, spending time at the cabin in Crivitz, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband, David of West Bend; two children, Anthony (Colleen) Groh of Mayville and Shawn (Tabitha) Staehler of Kiel; grandchildren, Ethan, Seth, Kasey Alaina and Colin; one brother, James (Laura) Matzen of Plymouth; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and two baby brothers. Daniel and Donald Matzen.
Memorial services for Doris will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at The Threshold Inc, 600 Rolfs Ave., West Bend. Family and friends may call at The Threshold Inc from 2 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial services will take place in Schleswig Cemetery, town of Schleswig (Rockville).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent directly to The Threshold Inc. in her name.
