Elmer A. Reiser, 93, a resident of Cedar Community of West Bend, passed away on August 29, 2009, at St. Josephís Hospital.
Elmer was born on Aug. 13, 1916, in Charlesburg, Calumet County, to the late Nicholas and Odellia (nee Kraus) Reiser. On Sept. 11, 1937, he married Veronica (nee Wirtz) at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed at the West Bend Company for 25 years. His lifelong hobby was auto racing, both modified, and late model and NASCAR.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 72 years, Veronica; daughter, Lois (Ron) Schlosser of Saukville; and son, Ken (Marilyn) of Slinger. He is further survived by his daughterin-law, Alice Reiser of Denver, NC- Hartford; grandchildren, Roxanne (Paul) Konrath, Robbie (Tracy) Reiser, Rochelle (Tony) Priesgen, Rhonda (Shawn) McCreedy, Renee (Brian) Lesson, David (Susan) Williams, Valerie (Ed) Schlichting, Sheri (Bill) Edming, Jeannine (Sean) McMahon, Steve (Laurie) Schlosser, Lisa (Bill) Decker, Christine (Mike) Korb and Marcus Reiser; 26 greatgrandchildren; a greatgreat-grandchild; sisterin-law, Bertha Morgen; brother-in-law, Leo (Ursula) Wirtz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, John; daughter, Janet Williams; sisters, Gladys Bauer and Marie Wick-Mastalski; sonin-law, Timm Williams; brothers-in-law, Don Bauer, Carl Wick and Henry Mastalski.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peterís Catholic Church of Slinger with the Rev. Richard Stoffel officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Thursday, Sept. 3, from 4 p.m. until time of Mass. Entombment will take place on Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Peterís Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
