Charles A. Sage, 79

Charles A. Sage, 79, of Slinger, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at St. Joseph═s Hospital of West Bend.

Charles was born on Feb. 2, 1930 to James and Ethel (nee Tallman) Sage in River Falls. He married Marion (nee Montag) on April 2, 1989 in West Bend.

Charles retired from Allis Chalmers after 30 years of service and later was the office manager for Slinger Speedway for many years along with bookkeeping and tax preparation work. He was a proud father of two Eagle Scouts and a volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 731 for many years. Charles also started the first Scout Night at the Slinger Speedway. He enjoyed meeting friends at Joe's Pot Belly Stove Club every Monday morning and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Charles is survived by his wife, Marion; children Beth (Jeff) Lighthizer, Marge (Dorm) Lighthizer, Barb (Ken) Melius, Karen (finace Bill Brugger) Erwin, Jerry (Jill) Dhein, Brian (Sandi) Dhein and Ted (Kristin) Dhein. He is further survived by his grandchildren Dan, Mark, Karrie, Jessie, Jody, Andy, Shawn, Sarah, Abby, Brad, Katlyn, Nick, Charlie, Mackenzie, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Marion Wallace, Esther Roeder, brother Willis ˝Peteţ (Helen) Sage, brother-in-law Mavis Sage, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald, Orville, Gilbert and Norman, nephew James Roeder and brother-in-law Lyle Wallace.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Richard J. Stoffel officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday, Sept. 11 from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m.
