Lucille Zimmel, 86, of Pickerel, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at the home of her daughter.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1922, in Addison township, Washington County, to the late John A. and Magdalena (nee Hefter) Hug. She married Frederick J. Zimmel on Aug. 9, 1945, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nenno. He survives.
She lived in the Allenton area until moving to Pickerel in 2006. She is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Pickerel, and Resurrection Catholic Church and Christian Mothers in Allenton. She was also a member of Fohl-Martin American Legion Auxiliary Unit 483. She and her husband were custodians of the Addison Town Hall. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mary (Richard) Guenther of Pearson; a son, Joel (Kathy) Zimmel of Van Dyne; four sisters, Melania Becker of Hartford, Bernadine Tuesch of Kewaskum, Grace Lamers of Wittenberg, Darlene Beistle of Hartford; two brothers, Ronald (Gladys) Hug of Neosho and Lawerence (Joyce) Hug of Kohlsville; six grandchildren, Richard (Judy) Guenther Jr. of Brandon, Daniel (Denise) Guenther of North East, Md., Donald (Sara) Guenther of Oconomowoc, Melissa (Rocky) Siemers of Elcho, Phillip (Trisha) Zimmel of Lomira and Joeleen Zimmel of Green Bay; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Stoffel officiating. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 18, from 12:30 p.m. until time of services. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
