Henry J. Moratz

Henry J. Moratz, 79, of Hartford, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee.

He was born on April 23, 1930, in Hartford to Henry and Laura (nee Heintz) Moratz. Henry married Charlotte Betthauser on Sept. 13, 1958, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.

Henry was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church. He worked for Libby’s here in Hartford for over 33 years. He was with the National Guard for six years. Henry loved bowling, golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlotte; his two boys, Steve (Patrice) and Greg (fiancŽ Christina); two grandchildren, Aaron and Katherine; a brother, Russell Moratz of Hartford; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Marge Cina of Hartford, Fred (Rosemarie) Betthauser of LaCrosse, Robert (Rosemunda) Betthauser of Hartford, Mary (Vernon) Benson of Hartford and Donald (Donna) Betthauser of LaCrosse. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth (Arlene) Moratz; a sister, Eunice (George) Lehner; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Cina.

Mass of Christian burial for Henry will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford, with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Shimon Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at St. Kilian Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford.
