Hazel D. Kling, 72

Hazel D. Kling (nee Parker), 72, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at Kathy Hospice at the age of 72 years.

She was born on June 6, 1937, in Bamburg, S.C., to Earl and Desi (nee Strohman) Parker. She married Edward Smith, Sr., at a young age and began her family. After their divorce, she married Stevens M. Kling, who preceded her in death in 2002. She was a crossing guard in West Allis for several years, a school bus driver for special needs children, lived both in South Carolina and Wisconsin over the years, loved to travel, loved to go up north to her daughter’s cabin and walk along the lake, enjoyed going to Florida and Branson, Mo., and especially like to go out to eat.

Hazel is survived by her children, Earl (Beth) Smith of West Bend, Bonnie Sabel of Virginia, Eddie (special friend, Ellen Smail) of Milwaukee, Tess (Tim) Lapp of Waukesha and Joe Smith of Milwaukee. She is further survived by her 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Blanche (Wally) Sweezy; special friend, Steve Guagliardo; nieces; nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Hazel will be held 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend, with the Rev. Stephanie Spencer presiding. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until time of service. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Brookfield.
