Charlotte L. Haecker, 61


Charlotte L. Haecker (nee Lessard), 61, of Jackson, died on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee.

She was born on Feb. 9, 1949, in Boston to George and Virginia (nee Strong) Lessard. As a very young child, the family moved to Wisconsin. While living in the Milwaukee area, she attended local schools, graduating from Custer High School in 1967.

On Aug. 30, 1969, she was united in marriage to William C. Haecker in Milwaukee.

In the early 1970s, the couple moved to Jackson, where they made their home. She worked for a few different companies. For the past 18 years she was employed at Sierra Grinding Wheel in Jackson.

Charlotte and Bill enjoyed spending time at their camper near Montello. Being able to relax around a campfire and spend time outdoors with each other were a few of life’s simple pleasures. These memories will always be cherished.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; her mother, Virginia Moore of Grafton; a brother, Ron (Veronica) Lessard of Ames, Iowa; two sisters, Cheryl (Jeff) Higgins of Grafton and Debbra (Brian) Laabs of Westby; a brother-in-law, Robert Haecker of Payson, Ariz.; three sisters-in-law, Barbara (Randy) Kafka of Phoenix, Ariz., Carol (Jerry) Teska of Caledonia and Diane Spingola of Oak Creek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; a brother, Dennis; and two step-fathers, John Robinson and Quint Moore.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with burial following in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Jackson on Thursday from 4 p.m. until a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. and also Friday at the church only from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
