Norma Hetzel, 92
Norma Hetzel, 92, of West Bend, passed away
Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Hartford Health Care Center.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1917, to the late Peter and Victoria (nee Graff)
Weiss in the town of Addison. She attended Sacred Heart School in Allenton
and Slinger High School.
Norma married Frank Hetzel on Aug. 4, 1946. Frank died in a tragic auto
accident in 1954 and Norma never remarried.
She played the trumpet in the Weiss Harmonizer Orchestra, performing
weekly radio shows and at many dance halls. Norma worked at the Beaver Dam
Community Hospital for many years.
Norma is survived by five sisters-in-law, Connie Weiss, Delores Weiss,
Dolores Hornicker and her husband, Evangeline Schaefer, and Marie (Roland)
Spaeth; brother-inlaw, Oscar Hetzel, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; parents-in-law, Oscar
(Catherine) Hetzel, sisters, Mary (Lee) Klein and Valeria Weiss; brothers
Rinald, Joseph (Verena), Lawrence, and infant brother Peter Weiss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. at
Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton with the Rev. Erich Weiss
presiding. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the
time of Mass. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
